Protecting Your Property in Miami, FL

Out of all the termite types, subterranean termites do the most damage worldwide. This damage is estimated to be in the billions of dollars each year. The most damaging subterranean termites are Coptotermes species, which include Formosan and Asian termites, and Reticulitermes species, which include the Eastern subterranean termite. All these termites can be found throughout Florida, except for the Asian termite, which is located primarily in South Florida.

Subterranean termites live and invade from underground, and a single colony can cover one acre underneath a home. They typically live in dark, moist, hidden environments underground but will create and live in carton nests aboveground. These can be found in walls and attics of structures and in nearby trees. To move above the ground, these termites build mud tubes, which are used for detection.

Subterranean termites’ colonies are in the earth, usually tunneling underground and entering your structures from below. They often travel great distances underground from tree root to tree root, and because there are usually small air gaps under tree roots, the termites don’t even have to dig very hard to travel. Although termites sometimes fly in and begin fresh colonies, they usually prefer to arrive by this method of “tunneling in”.

In the past years, new species of subterranean termites have been found in our region, including the Asian, Formosan, and West Indian species. Unlike the eastern subterranean termites, which are the native species of our region, these new species are considerably more invasive to the structures.

1. Our techniques are designed to identify the origin of the infestation of the subterranean termites and in the matter of how to precisely eradicate the infestation.

2. We treat the exterior of the property and the crawl space under the property, and we also use the best product on the market (Termidor HE) which gives 100% effectiveness, and we can ensure not to damage the exterior of the structure with the products that we use.

3. For the interior we use a foam machine that injects the chemical products to treat the inside of specific locations. We also use these products in the interior of the walls and bathrooms that we do not have access to and helps us to get to those hard-to-reach places much more quickly and effectively and pinpoint the root of the infestation and begin to eradicate.

4.Most of the time the subterranean termites start from the roof of the property, and we have various products like (Premise) that we use to spray the attic and eradicate possible nest (holes) created by leaks that were there before hand and have caused moisture in the ceiling (roof).

5. We also have another option after the liquid treatment with TERMIDOR HE to control the problem above ground. The fumigation process with Vikane Gas gives us access to places that are hard to reach, the gas that we would use is four times the amount for the drywood termites and we would use this treatment 2-3 weeks after the subterranean treatment to eradicate the problem above ground.
